growth continues

When launched the world’s first licenses bitcoin-only online casino in January 2014, more than one industry expert expected the new entrant to quickly fold its hand.

Far from being a flash in the pan, in the last two years has started a sportsbook (August 2015), enjoyed 1,370% growth in its second year of trading, and as of today added over 100 new casino games from Pragmatic Play.

The new games available from Pragmatic include Beowulf, Lucky Dragons, and Go! Monkey, lifting the total game count for to over a thousand.

“We are thrilled to be adding more than 100 titles from Pragmatic Play to our online casino game portfolio,” explained’s head of marketing Tomas Toro.

“We believe the new games will be a big hit with our players in Europe, Asia and beyond, and will help bring new customers to our site,” he added.’s move into the casino mainstream comes amid continuing legal controversy about the status of Bitcoin itself. A US Federal judge in New York ruled last month that Bitcoin constitutes a form of money, contradicting a July 2016 ruling by a Florida judge who said according to state law the online currency does not.

State legislators in Florida have expressed renewed interest in regulating Bitcoin, or at least establishing its status as money, but this is only one of hundreds of jurisdictions currently without a clear policy.

Meanwhile does not seem to mind the unclear status of its currency of choice. According to company spokesman Mark McGuinness, “Bitcoin gambling continues to gain mainstream acceptance amongst players, particularly the millennial demographic and it will continue its growth trajectory.”
